swim party

it is hard to believe that we just had our annual swim party at my grandmother’s house. it feels like it was just yesterday that we were putting jackson in the pool for the first time. not only has he grown physically in the course of a year, but his little personality has become something to write about. obviously.

as usual, jackson was hamming it up at the party. his love for the water has not changed, and if anything, it has become greater. as soon as he laid eyes on the pool, it was over. that was all he wanted. and for those of you that know jackson, he usually gets what he wants. we barely had time to get his swim trunks and sunscreen on before he was jumping into the pool. yes, i said jumping. with kelly in the water, he made several jumps off the side of the pool and into her arms. and it didn’t faze him one bit. i truly believe that he would have jumped whether she was out there or not. the kid is fearless.

once we finally got him out of the pool, he recharged with a nap, and was right back at it. this time playing with his cousins, swinging with his great-grandmother, and terrorizing the family cats. all at an overly-aggressive pace. typical jackson style.

it was so nice to be able to relax with family for the whole day. the atmosphere, the food, and the stories were all wonderful. and of course, we have plenty of pictures to prove it. don’t be surprised if we post a video pretty soon as well. who new parenting could be this entertaining?
